Jeff Knipe - Candidate for Chaffey

Jeff Knipe is a resilient survivor and strong advocate for fair, health based cannabis reform in South Australia.

Over the past six years, Jeff has faced and overcome two battles with cancer. After enduring long term effects and trying a wide range of pharmaceutical treatments with little success, it was not until a terminally ill friend introduced him to cannabis edibles that he finally experienced real improvements in sleep, pain management, and appetite.

Like many South Australians, Jeff faces an unfair reality under current roadside drug testing laws. Despite not being impaired, he risks losing his licence and his livelihood simply for using legally prescribed medication. Jeff is committed to reforming drug driving laws so they are evidence based, protect road safety, and do not punish responsible patients.

Jeff is also a strong believer in personal freedom and the right of people to grow their own cannabis to manage their health without fear of criminalisation. In Parliament, he will fight to protect patients and support the growing number of Australians who rely on medicinal cannabis.

As a regional candidate, Jeff has a keen interest in building a thriving hemp industry across South Australia’s regional areas. He sees hemp as a major opportunity to support local farmers, create regional jobs, and contribute to a stronger, cleaner future through sustainable agriculture and manufacturing.

Jeff is standing for Chaffey to give regional South Australians a strong voice and to push for practical reforms that improve lives and strengthen local communities.
