Legalise Cannabis Parties have formed — or are forming — in every state and territory across Australia.
The first was Legalise Cannabis Queensland, established ahead of the 2020 state election. Twenty-three candidates ran, with some receiving up to 5.5% of the primary vote.
Next came Legalise Cannabis Western Australia, registered just in time to contest the March 2021 election — successfully securing two Upper House seats.
In Victoria, the party contested the 2022 state election and also won two Upper House seats.
Most recently, in 2023, Legalise Cannabis NSW gained representation in the Upper House, marking yet another win for cannabis law reform.
With an upcoming election South Australia (March 2026), we're working toward Australia-wide representation.
Cannabis prohibition is enforced at the state and territory level, including laws around policing, driving, and access. That’s why we must be organised locally to push for consistent, compassionate and evidence-based reform.
Legalise Cannabis is growing fast — and we invite you to be part of our grassroots movement. Together, we can make cannabis law reform a reality across Australia.
