Trent Oehme - Candidate for Playford

Trent Oehme our candidate for Playford is standing to give South Australians the opportunity to have their say on sensible cannabis law reform.

He supports the Legalise Cannabis South Australia Party’s proposed Cannabis Amnesty, which would allow adults to grow cannabis at home for personal medicinal use without prescriptions or penalties. The policy is designed to support patients facing financial hardship, those unable to secure specialist appointments, and families who rely on cannabis to treat their conditions.

The amnesty would restore fairness by allowing patients to access safe and affordable treatment without being forced back into the illicit market. It promotes patient autonomy, reduces unnecessary criminal penalties and supports people who have been affected by recent restrictions on medicinal cannabis prescribing.

Trent also supports changes to South Australia’s drug driving laws so that prescribed medicinal cannabis patients are not penalised simply for the presence of cannabis in saliva when they are not impaired and are following their doctor’s instructions.

Photo withheld at the candidate’s request due to the ongoing stigma surrounding cannabis law reform. Ending this stigma is part of why we are standing candidates.
